National Precision Engineering Specialist Programme

 The Precision Engineering (PE) industry is a key pillar in the Singapore economy. It is the backbone serving the breadth of manufacturing – supporting key industries such as medical technology, semiconductor equipment and aerospace.
As Singapore establishes herself as a centre of excellence for PE, we will require a highly skilled and versatile workforce to meet the challenges of tomorrow - people who can innovate and turn ideas into reality.
To achieve this, the Singapore Government has launched a $76 million PE Manpower Initiative to train and upgrade 2000 professionals in the PE workforce over the next 5 years.

The National Precision Engineering (PE) Specialist Programme
A five-year structured in-employment upgrading programme jointly developed by the Government and industry to provide training and career enhancement opportunities for engineering candidates in employment through these approved upgrading courses:
- PE WSQ specialist training courses conducted by SPETA; and
- Part-time PE Diploma Course conducted by Nanyang Polytechnic

In recognition of their growing PE capability, trainees will receive the following:
- Regular salaries
- Training allowances @ S$20,000 over five years
